02-06.09.2014. Study tour "The Finnish experience of organic production and consumption." There were 15 people in the group, farmers of Luga district, students SPbGAU, project experts. Leader of the group was Ludmila Evstafieva, Chief of the project, Luga district adminstration. On the Finnish side the tour was organized by Harry Huhta, Penty Sauri and Katherine Petruneva
The study tour included: the seminar, meeting with Pirjo Siskonen, director of the Finnish Research Organic Institute, visits to a number of Finnish organic farms.

Seminar “Luga river: environmental status and ways for it improving”

The Seminar took place on the 21st of November 2013 in Luga city and it was organized in the frame of the project SE 717. The seminar was attended by the project SE 717 experts, representatives of the administration of Luga municipal district and pilot schools. Representatives of "Vodokanal of St. Petersburg", “Luga Vodokanal”, Limnology Institute, RAS, St. Petersburg University Aqueous Polymers, etc. were invited to the Seminar. It was filming by Luga television company "LIC."

The Study visit to Osmino rural municipality, Luga district of Leningrad region

The Study visit of representatives of Russian and Finnish partners to Osmino settlement was held from 5 to 7 November 2013 . During the visit, two workshops were organized in Osmino and two working meetings in Luga city and the North-West Research Institute of Agricultural Engineering and Electrification. The purpose of the visit and workshops was to discuss and prepare proposals for the environmentally sound management of municipal waste , which also include the construction of a biogas plant in the agricultural company " Partizan ".

Aqua-biological Scientific Unit of the Project

The field works of aqua biological group to study and to gather the biological objects in the Luga River and its tributaries, Saba and the Jashera rivers in 2013, was finished on the 13th of September, 2013. There were seven trips in Luga district, during which more than 100 samples of biological objects were picked up in the pilot sites of the rivers. The pictures from the fifth trip (July 16-19, 2013) are presented.(download)

The Study tour “Collecting experiences from the Kymijoki River and Saimaa Lake (Finland)” was organized for Russian participants from 17 to 20 June,2013. Let us say at once that the mysterious river Kumiyoki it was not possible to see, but in general the program was very rich and interesting.
